Wolfe's Park was a small amusement park at Sylvan Lake. The park contained a Roller
Rink, Dance Hall, Bingo Hall and three small cottages. It also had a few rides such as a
Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel and the train that went around the park. There were also four
kiddie rides and playground as well. The lake was a main attraction as a place to swim with a concession stand by the docks. They rented boats as well. Many family outings took place at Wolfe's Park. In the mid sixties, the park closed and was later sold to a local businessman. He had the intention of restoring the park to its original condition but he soon disappeared. Following are photos of the park as it looked in 1982. It probably looks about the same today. |
